BlueReach — a tritone or blues tonality and Reach tonality
Harmonic visuals
Scale and sound samples
You may enjoy a sound sample or tonality loop as sound mantra for contemplation or meditation, for upliftment and focusing, or simply as soothing background sound for relaxation and regeneration.
Characteristics
- BlueReach is exceptional. It is both a tritone or blues tonality and a Reach heptatonality, but does not fully conform with the matrix of either type. The lower tetrachord follows the pattern of a tritone or blues tonality, while the upper tetrachord is typical Reach.
- BlueReach: The name indicates that there are two Reach steps, the one in the lower tetrachord in a blues mode and the one in the upper tetrachord in a Reach mode.
- Step pattern: Ascending from the fundamental (tonic or Do), a Reach step leads to a whole step followed by three consecutive half steps. Then comes the second Reach step. And finally a half step leads up to the octave.
- Scale intervals: Minor third, quart, tritone, quint, minor sixth, and major seventh.
- Penta- and tetrachords: The lower pentachord is Blue. The upper tetrachord is Reach.
- Harmonic axes: There are two axes, vertical and tilted, N-S and SE-NW.
- Primary harmonic anchors: The fundamental or North anchor is fully present. The East and the contrast or South anchors both have their head and left leg. The West anchor is completely absent.
- Secondary harmonic anchors: There are no secondary anchors.
- A fascinating hybrid of tritone or blues and fully anchored Reach heptatonality characteristics. Two Reach steps, one a Blue and the other a Reach type; four half steps, three of them consecutive; and only one whole step. Exceptional!
