Further, it touches on tonality naming as well website improvements. But before that, it announces the integration of additional tonalities into the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Tonalibus catalogue<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">. With this emerged the three tonality group classifications Pro (short for progressive), Reg (for regressive), and Core. As the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/about-tonalibus\/glossary\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Tonalibus glossary<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> indicates, a Core tonality contains all four corners of the sound temple; and Pro tonalities omit the regressive quart, while Reg tonalities omit the progressive quint. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New personal sound samples<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"sound\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/sounds\/spring-2021\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">spring 2021 collection of personal sound samples<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> keeps growing. Further, multiple sound samples came about for each of the newly integrated Core and Pro tonalities (mentioned below). This includes four new scale and sound samples for each of the newly added tonalities. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">\u201cSpontaneous Schong Jen P\u016bj\u0101\u201d &#8212; Its title is \u201cRoots Reaching for Heaven\u201d and it spans 5:54 featuring the amazing voice of Christina Braun with Ulrico&#8217;s 8-string guitar accompaniment. The underlying tonality of this spontaneous improvisation is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/hexatonalities\/hexapromix\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">HexaProMix<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pro, Reg, and Core tonalities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Tonalibus introduced the tonality classifications Pro, Reg, and Core. These designate and group together specific, partially anchored tonalities. Pro tonalities are only progressively and Reg tonalities only regressively anchored. Core tonalities are progressively but not regressively anchored, except for BlueMix which is fully, i.e. progressively and regressively, anchored. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/pro-reg-tonalities\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Pro tonalities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> include: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/pentatonalities\/pentapromin\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">PentaProMin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/hexatonalities\/hexapromin\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">HexaProMin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/hexatonalities\/hexapromix\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">HexaProMix<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/hexatonalities\/hexapromaj\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">HexaProMaj<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/hexatonalities\/hexaproreach\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">HexaProReach<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/pentatonalities\/pentaprola-or-pentaion-pentatonic-major\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">PentaProLa\/PentaIon<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> (pentatonic major), and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/diatonic-heptatonalities\/lydian\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Lydian<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> (a regular diatonic heptatonality). These, except for the last two, are new in the Tonalibus catalogue as of now.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/pro-reg-tonalities\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Reg tonalities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> are less of a focus for Tonalibus, because their overtone anchoring is less evident. There are three Reg tonalities currently in the catalogue: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/pentatonalities\/pentareg-or-pentaphryg-blues-minor\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">PentaReg \/ PentaPhryg<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> (blues minor), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/tritone-or-blues-tonalities\/blueup\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">BlueUp<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/diatonic-heptatonalities\/locrian\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Locrian<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> (a regular diatonic heptatonality). <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/core-tonalities\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Core tonalities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> are fundamental to Tonalibus, because they include all four corners of the sound temple. As a result, they tend towards dissolving tonality and can thus open more freedom in experiencing sound. Newly integrated Core tonalities are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/pentatonalities\/pentacor\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">PentaCor<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/hexatonalities\/hexacormix\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">HexaCorMix<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/hexatonalities\/hexacormaj\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">HexaCorMaj<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">. While previously already present ones are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/reach-or-harmonic-heptatonalities\/reachupmix\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">ReachUpMix<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/reach-or-harmonic-heptatonalities\/reachupmaj\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">ReachUpMaj<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/reach-or-harmonic-heptatonalities\/loreachupmix\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">LoReachUpMix<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tonalibus.org\/tonalities\/tritone-or-blues-tonalities\/bluemix\/\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">BlueMix<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"website\"><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">The pitches in the lower tetrachord of a Pro tonality anchor in primarily discernible overtones (that are not octaves). These are the quint, major third, and major second. The upper tetrachord remains flexible and provides fascinating, more or less subtly distinct tonalities. In a Reg tonality this manifests inverse. The lower tertrachord is flexible, while the overtone foundation of the upper tetrachord pitches stems from the last past or previous generation in sound progression.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Website and tonality naming improvements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Consistent navigation aides are now available on all tonality pages, including individual and group category pages. Therefore there is much less need for scrolling. Specific portions of a page are now accessible directly from corresponding buttons at the beginning of each page (similar to the three buttons offered as the first thing of this update). Such buttons are also available now on personal sound sample pages. Plus all loops, sound samples that automatically restart at their beginning when reaching their end, are now on dedicated loop pages, no longer interspersed. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">The spelling of tonality names has been adjusted by capitalizing the initial letter of each component in a name. As a result it became more evident what the specific elements of a tonality expressed in its name are. For example, PentaIon indicates that this is a pentatonality with a Ionian or as such major orientation. Or LoReachUpMix shows that this is a Reach tonality with the upper tetrachord the Mixolydian type of minor, and that the shifted up Reach step is in the lower tetrachord with the framing half step bellow it lowered below the preceding whole step. Thus a name can express also the complexity of a tonality to some extent. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">&#8220;Don&#8217;t wish for the shining brilliance of the jewel but for the crude roughness of the stone.&#8221;<br>\u2014 from verse 39 of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tao_Te_Ching\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Tao Te Ching<\/span><\/em><\/a><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> \u9053\u5fb7\u7ecf by Lao Tzu (1972 Diederichs edition, p. 82)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color:#f7b320\" class=\"has-inline-color\">An encouraging note just arrived from Northeast Switzerland. It reads: &#8220;Tonalibus is indeed a rich collection, an instructive and experiential resource for spirit, mind, and ear.
