The pursuit of the manifest [<em><em>sagu\u1e47a<\/em><\/em> \u0938\u0917\u0941\u0923 ] leads to worldly enjoyment and the meditation of the unmanifest [<em>nirgu\u1e47a<\/em> \u0928\u093f\u0930\u094d\u0917\u0941\u0923 ] leads to salvation. Contemplation attainable through one-pointed concentration of attention is not conveniently within the reach of people; therefore, under the circumstances, the sages take resort to the easier means of worshiping the unmanifest <em>n\u0101da<\/em> [ \u0928\u093e\u0926 sound, tone, or vibration]&#8230; Even that, being devoid of emotional color, does not interest the (common) people.
