Tonalibus exploration courses aim at deepening one’s understanding and insights about harmony and tonalities, in music and life. Such courses can focus on working with the catalogue of anchored tonalities, delve into the five-course series Harmonic and Tonality Fundamentals, expand on Spiritualibus inspirations, or any one or combination of potential course topics listed below.
Exploration course programs will be tailored according to the interests and needs of a given group or individual participants. The duration of a course can vary widely, from a one-hour session to several consecutive days or multiple sessions spread over weeks or months. The goal is to explore a given topic or set of topics. Working together, we will discover new vistas on harmony and tonalities. Ideally, our courses will be face-to-face. However, we offer also virtual sessions as needed.
Focus and contents of exploration courses
An exploration course may focus on just a single specific Tonalibus or Spiritualibus topic. Or it may address any mix of topics, practical work using the catalogue of anchored tonalities, in-depth considerations from the five-course series Harmonic and Tonality Fundamentals, or Spiritualibus inspirations and exercises. The main choices for course contents focal points and topics are:

Duration and format of exploration courses
Some specific, individual topics from the Tonalibus course series or from the above list may be selected for concise one-and-a-half-hour work sessions or discussions. For example, the Harmony and Tonalities concepts brief is a very condensed introduction to the five-course series Harmonic and Tonality Fundamentals. It can be presented in about an hour.
To cover the whole five-part course series, including practical work and discussions, we recommend a four-day course or eight sessions. This sequence is framed by the concepts preview and review. Practical work includes a session on modulation. Musical applications and practice with the catalogue of tonalities can be part of all sessions. There is time for discussions and activities, including some spiritually oriented exercises, as well as inspirations from Spiritualibus.
