Misrepresentation to the public
Considered a serious violation
By present laws of this world
Projecting a thing one way
And in the end it’s another
Presenting open acceptance
Negating claims to exclusivity
But then in the very end insisting
That the given path is the only one
Even expel long-time practitioners
Who may have dedicated their lives
For not affirming exclusivity claims
Continually and presently denied
However at heart insisted upon
Thus can no longer be supported
Contradictions beyond mere flaws
Relativized in context for decades
Balanced by very much goodwill
And also some naive credence
Seeing what one wants to see
Ignoring what one does not
Finally will boil over the rim
Into painfully tangible reality
Can pull rugs from under feet
After having held up for so long
Enough to build up consciousness
Of a superficially perplexing winding
Straight forward into spirit’s freedom
From dogmatic organizational fetters
Finally detached beyond polarities
A promised goal in such a paradox
Dwelling in divine presence now
Grateful for the light and sound
The fulfillment of life and love.
HU — Mantra of Soul
“Betrayal into Trust” by Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī جلالالدین محمّد رومی
When school and mosque and minaret
get torn down, then dervishes
can begin their community.
Not until faithfulness
turns to betrayal
and betrayal into trust
can any human being
become part of the truth.
